On November 11 a support staff member in the Jr/ Sr High building was written up for failing to follow discipline protocols. On November 13, multiple complaints about this support staff member were reported to administration and a full investigation immediately started. The investigation concluded after three school days and a recommendation of termination was reached. The support staff member's employment was terminated effective Nov 19. This person was notified and removed from campus before school the following day. PCS takes these matters seriously and is required by state law to keep certain personnel matters confidential. This brief and successful investigation followed state law and district policies to protect students & staff. We commend our building level administrators for their quick and thorough work. This past weekend, copies of related teacher & student statements from Peru JS High School were publicly released on social media. These were obtained illegally and published. PCS administration is currently working to determine who entered our school district’s system in an unauthorized and illegal manner compromising student privacy and safety.

Peru Jr/Sr High School campus will host local law enforcement for an Active Shooter Response Exercise on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
