Principal
Biography
I am honored to serve as Principal of both Peru Junior Senior High School and North Central Indiana Academy as well as K–12 Curriculum Director for Peru Community Schools. My career in education has provided me with opportunities to serve students and educators in a variety of roles, all of which have strengthened my belief that strong relationships, high expectations, and meaningful learning experiences are the keys to student success.
Before moving into administration, I spent seventeen years in the classroom, primarily teaching English Language Arts, English, and ELL. Throughout my teaching career, I also had the opportunity to teach a wide range of other courses, including Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, U.S. History, Government, Economics, Health, Speech, Biology, Integrated Chemistry/Physics, and Psychology. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the diverse talents, interests, and learning needs of students.
I later spent five years in a district-level curriculum leadership role, supporting English Learners, World Languages, Mathematics, and English programs. This work allowed me to collaborate closely with teachers across grade levels and content areas to strengthen instruction and improve student outcomes.
Today, I am passionate about creating a school culture where students feel connected, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. I believe in empowering teachers, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that every decision is centered on what is best for students.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking, traveling, learning languages, and making music. I am grateful to be part of the Peru community and proud to work alongside our students, staff, families, and community members as we continue to build a culture of excellence and opportunity.
