Minimum Qualifications:
● Valid Indiana Elementary Mild or Intense Intervention Teaching License
● Must pass the required Expanded Criminal History Check and Expanded CPS Check
● Demonstrates responsibility, initiative, productivity, and collaboration

Nature and Scope of Position:
● Planning and delivery of special education instruction and services
● Compliance with legal and procedural safeguards
● Maintenance of records
● Collaboration and communication with parent/guardians and school staff
● Supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs
Duties & Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning and Delivery
● Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with case conference
committees.
● Adapt curriculum and modify materials to meet students’ individual needs.
● Provide direct instruction in resource, co-teaching, or self-contained settings, depending on student needs
and placement.
Compliance Documentation
● Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress, IEP implementation, and service logs.
● Conduct formal and informal assessments to monitor progress and guide instruction.
● Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings and annual case reviews in compliance with federal and state laws.
● Ensure compliance with legal and procedural safeguards related to special education.
Collaboration and Communication
● Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and other service providers to support inclusive
practices.
● Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, goals, and concerns.
● Provide training, resources, and consultation to staff to support students with disabilities across school
environments.
Behavior and Social-Emotional Support
● Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and manage classroom behavior using proactive and
restorative strategies.
● Support students in developing self-regulation, social skills, and coping strategies.
● Work closely with school psychologists, counselors, and administrators to address behavioral and emotional
needs.
Professionalism and School Engagement
● Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics in all matters related to student welfare.
● Participate in professional development related to special education practices, laws, and instructional
strategies.
● Contribute to the overall school community by participating in team meetings, initiatives, and school events.
