Buddy Classes Begin at Blair Pointe

This week students at Blair Pointe are beginning to work with their Buddy Class.
Research shows that "Buddy Class" activities can be a great way to foster friendships, improve social skills, and engage students in learning.
Mrs. Shine Hall, counselor, said, " Our goal is for students make connections throughout our entire building and have fun while doing it!"
August's activity was for each student to introduce themselves to each other with lots of fun "Would You Rather" questions. Then they worked to complete an "All About Blair Pointe" crossword puzzle.
Students are excited to see what they will be doing in September.
food drive

Blair Pointe Gears Up for Annual Food Drive

School counselor, Mrs. Shine Hall, heads up the week long food drive and she gets excited to see how much the students bring in each year.
She said, "Many families enjoy giving back to our community and December is a great time to do that.  Our annual Food Drive will be held the first full week of December.  We hope to push as many items as we can to our local food bank at the Salvation Army.  Monetary donations will be shared between Miami County Helping Hands and The United Way.  Classrooms will be offered incentives for bringing in items if they can.  Some incentives let them enjoy an extra recess or even a popcorn party as a treat!"
