Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is imperative that your student is up to date on his/her immunizations and receives the flu vaccination this year. Please provide the appropriate school with proof of the immunizations before school starts.

     School immunization requirements for the 2021-2022 school year are listed at the lower portion of this page. 
              Note: these are required by the State Department of Health for your child to attend Peru Community Schools.

       After December 1, 2011, The State Department of Health will no longer be giving free immunizations to any child who has health insurance covering immunizations.   
*Any child over the age of 4 is currently eligible to complete immunizations required to enter kindergarten. 
*Any child over the age of 11 is currently eligible to complete all immunizations required to start 6th grade.
The Miami County Health Department is making appointments for immunizations. 
Please call 765-472-3901 to schedule your child's appointment if eligible.

Immunizations are required to be done BEFORE the start of the school year!!!!

Please call your child's immunization provider, as soon as possible, to ensure your child will have the required immunizations to enroll for the 2020-2021 school year.  If you are unable to utilize the MCHD, please contact your family physician to make an appointment for this need.

Indiana State Department of Health School Immunization Requirements for 2021-2022:

New for 2020-2021: Incoming Pre-K students must have 2 Hepatitis A vaccinations before starting school. 

Incoming kindergarten students
must have 2 Hepatitis A vaccinations by the first day of school in August.
For current 5th grade students entering the 6th grade in the fall, a Tdap, Meningococcal, 2 doses of Hepatitis A, and 2 Varicella vaccines by the first day of school in August. 
For current 11th grade students entering the 12th grade in the fall, a second dose of the Meningococcal vaccine and 2 doses of Hepatitis A vaccine by the first day of school in August.

***Please contact the School Nurse regarding current health problems and conditions that may affect your child's performance at school before the start of the school year or as new medical issues develop during the school year.  Any building secretary can locate the nurse and help you set up an appointment.***
